"Jimi Hendrix Playing Purple Haze" by Daniela Power

"Playing Purple Haze" 18X24 Original Acrylic on Canvas

After I was done with the portrait of Jack Johnson, I was so excited to start a new piece and I knew that it had to be a musician.
I've discovered a new passion... I love painting portraits!
This is how "Playing Purple Haze" came about.
Jimi Hendrix was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter. He is often considered to be the greatest electric guitarist in the history of rock music and one of the most influential musicians of his era across a range of genres.  In 1969 Jimi Hendrix headlined the iconic Woodstock Festival.  Sadly and like many other amazing musicians, he died of a drug overdose in September of 1970.
This is my husband's favorite piece!
There are so many more pieces to come, I have all this ideas.... Can't wait to paint the next one!
Aloha!
